With a long history of wonderfully eccentric landlords, The Star at Lidgate is a traditional and friendly country pub aspiring towards the highest quality, tastiest, locally produced food with an atmosphere which is warm and welcoming.
A wonderful 16th Century dwelling, built at the time of the Spanish Armada, it is a late example of a hall house. The bar is situated in what was the open hall. Whilst as a "Beer House" in the 19th Century, it acquired its name, The Star. A grade 2 listed building set in a conservation area, it is a fascinating building, with beautiful bressemer beams, carved oak beams and old English style.
Locally sourced produce that changes with the seasons prepared and cooked in a great traditional manner.
A selection of cask ales that are constantly rotated means you get to taste the best the area has to offer together with a fine election of Whiskeys and other spirits.
and be merry
There is nothing like the atmosphere of a village inn with an open log fire on a cold evening and a green and bright beer garden in the summer, somewhere to relax with friends.
